The Baby Boomer generation is reaching retirement age and recent statistics show that they make up 26% of the population. Many researchers believe that the generation will live longer than previous generations, yet are less healthy than their parents and grandparents. Therefore, many of them are now looking into senior housing and assisted living facilities.


Degree of Care


When you invest in senior housing and assisted living facilities, it is important to remember that there are varying degrees of care provided at these facilities. Some are communities where senior citizens are active and self-sufficient, yet provided with some additional services that are uniquely designed for the aging population.


There are other types of elder care facilities, however, that are designed for the senior citizen with significant health problems, and these types of facilities offer more advanced medical services under the supervision of doctors and nurses.


Shortage of Facilities


As the Baby Boomer population ages, the need for these types of facilities is growing quickly making investment in senior housing and assisted living facilities a wise choice.
